I woke up at 7 today, worshipped for 15 minutes, and then decided to check and make sure Pipe Masters wasn't going on. Turns out, it started at 7! So, we left by 7:30 and got over there. SO MANY PEOPLE! The waves weren't as big as yesterday, but they were still over head and double over head. We saw the quarters, semis, and finals. We watched Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, and Adriano de Souze. Gabriel Medina won the Vans Triple Crown, while Adriano won both the WSL champion world title and Pipe Masters! An amazing experience to see surfers of such skill in person. Glad we didn't miss it! I snagged a couple souvenirs there. We left after Adriano gave his winning speech thing. Oh yeah, we got invited to a house party with free beer and live music. We declined. We left, and almost ran out of gas on the way home, but we made it. We went home, and Maggie called Mikey wanting some over-the-phone prayers, so he prayed. Afterwards, Maggie asked us to go to the mall with her to get gifts for tomorrow's Christmas party. So, Dani drove me and Mikey to meet Maggie, and we headed to the mall On the way, Dani wanted Popeye's, so we stopped and got her and Maggie food. We saw a thrift store near Popeye's called Savers, so we stopped. I got a Hawaiian shirt, a rash guard, and some tee shirts. After that, we headed into Honolulu and arrived at a ginormous outdoor/indoor mall. Maggie got presents for the party, and I bought wax. This kiosk sunglasses guy was trying to sell Mikey and I some glasses. I repeatedly shut him down, but Mikey went along with it just for fun. It was pretty funny. After the mall, we headed to Nadia's house (Dani's friend) and she gave us her brother's board to borrow. Its short and skinny, but its way better than the wave storm on bigger days!Mikey and I are headed to North Shore tomorrow to surf with Vincent or find smaller surf. What stinks is...we're leaving at 6 in the morning, and we're getting home close to 12 tonight... and we're going to Maggie's party at 12 tomorrow which, isn't bad, its just we can't stay very long up North or get much sleep tonight.
