Today was such a good day! Mikey slept in a bit, so I went to try out a coffee shop Maggie had told me about called Times Coffee Shop. I got there and quickly realized that it was a breakfast place, not a coffee shop. Slightly disappointing, I walked across the parking lot to a McDonald's. As I walked in the door of Maggie's house, Mikey called me saying he was up and ready to surf. So, we ate some food and headed to the North Shore. We started at Hale'iwa, where the North Shore Surf Girls, a surf camp, told us to try. Alas, it sucked. There were 1 ft. waves and a few surf camps taking all the waves. We stayed for maybe 30 minutes and left. As we were walking to the truck, we asked a local where we could try for bigger waves. He answered, "Chun's. It's just two beaches north." So we went to Chun's. The paddle out was pretty long, over 100 yards, but the waves were fun. Mostly in the waist-stomach range, but some bigger sets came through in the shoulder-head range. We surfed there for an hour and 1/2 - 2 hours and paddled out. We caught the same wave out, which was a cool moment...Mikey and I side by side laying on the same wave, but I messed it up. I accidentally turn into him, he grabbed my butt trying to not hit me, pushing himself out of the wave. He forgave me for it. We left Chun's and went to a shrimp food truck, where I got hot and spicy shrimp. At first, it tasted weird, kind of crunchy. After around 3 pieces eaten, Mikey said something like, "Oh, dude, they left the shells on them." Yep. I ate some shrimp with the exoskeleton on them. Probably a few legs as well. Hope it all comes out alright. We headed home after that. After a little TV, we went to Kailua to check out a Goodwill, but it was awful. We gassed up skunk (the name we gave the truck) and headed home. Maggie had a doctors appointment today and didn't feel good afterwards. She asked us if she could take us to California Pizza Kitchen, so we did. We all ate salads that were really good! We left there, came home, and went to bed.
