I now own a ukulele! Mikey and I were planning on running up diamond head today, but we didn't set our clocks and woke up after 8. We decided to wait and do it later when we could wake up early and beat the heat. Our main goal today was to find a good ukulele shop and get a uku. We walked out the door, and decided we should invite Dani. So we did, and she wanted to come. So, we left for Pearl Ciry, where our first stop was Ben Franklin's Craft store, where Mikey purchased some stuff. After that, Dani got a hazelnut latte and we headed to BWW! While waiting for our food, I called Mom about what size ukulele I should get. She said that she had wanted one for years, so whichever one I wanted to get, get her the other! She said that she would pay for 1 and I could pay for the other, and we can share the! How cool is that! So that's what we did! We went to a music store called "Easy Music Center" where I found some nice ukus, but Mikey and I wanted to check another store called "The Ukulele Site" in Hale'iwa. SO GLAD WE DID! I found two Pono brand ukuleles, both solid acacia wood. One soprano and one tenor. Super excited about them. Mikey didn't find exactly what he was looking for unfortunately. We stopped in a surf shop, where I bought a straw hat, and they were selling a board used in the contest for $350. After that, Mikey got a smoothie, Dani got an acai bowl, and I got a sandwich. After that, we headed to the house, where I blogged until Maggie got home. We talked to Maggie for a few hours and ate hot dogs cooked in soy sauce on top of rice. It was surprisingly good!
